Yvonne Walker Smith

Yvonne Walker Smith, 88, of Reidsville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2026, and is now at home with the Lord.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Wilkerson Funeral Home, with Pastor Ron Tuck officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Wilkerson Funeral Home, and at other times at the home.

Yvonne was born in Rockingham County to the late James Walker and Laura Bell Evans Walker. She had a gift for cooking and baking, and everything she made was good. She loved food, especially after a day of shopping, and she truly had an appetite for life. She loved the beach, enjoyed shopping, and had a funny, joyful spirit that made people love being around her. Above all, she thought the world of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. One of her greatest joys was watching her great-grandchildren play and simply being part of their lives.

In addition to her parents, Yvonne was preceded in death by her brother, J.D. Walker. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Bobby Wayne Smith; her son, Bobby Dean Smith and wife, Anita; her grandchildren, Jamie Light and husband, Scott, and Jessica Smith; and her great-grandchildren, Abel Light and Sully Light. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
