Wilma "Willie" Compton Lucas

Wilma “Willie” Compton Lucas, 71, of 2305 Richardson Drive, Reidsville, NC went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday evening, August 27, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Lawsonville Road Baptist Church with Dr. Ron Tuck and Pastor Ralph Clayton officiating. The burial will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and other times at the home.

Wilma was born in Rockingham County to the late John and Lelia Walker Compton. She was retired from BGF Industries with over 47 years of service. She was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and was a former member of Covington Wesleyan Church where she had taught Sunday School. More recently, she was a longtime member of Lawsonville Road Baptist Church. Wilma was selfless and she always considered others first. She was a loving wife and adored her son, Dusty. It was her priority to be available for all of his interests and activities. She was especially thrilled with the arrival of her grandson Gabriel Conway. Both sides of the family looked to Wilma for guidance and support. Her love for her family was especially obvious through her faithful caregiving of her father. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother Keith Compton.

She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Dwight Lucas; her son Dusty Lucas and wife Katie; grandson Gabriel; sister Pam Daniels; brothers Dave Compton and wife Kathy and Rob Compton; nieces, nephews, and a large extended family.
