With heavy hearts, we announce that on February 12, 2026, Willie C. Shelton of Reidsville, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord.
A funeral service will be held at Wilkerson Funeral Home, Tuesday February 17th, 2026 at 1:00 pm, a visitation will be held two hours prior to the service starting at 11:00 am, with Reverend John Wicker Jr. Officiating.
Willie was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was known for his unforgettable stories, infectious laughter, quick wit, and gentle presence. His steady nature, kind heart, and easy smile made him a constant source of comfort and joy to all who knew him. He had a special gift for filling every room with love and laughter, the kind that could instantly lift spirits and bring people together. Willie created lasting memories that will be treasured by his family and friends for generations to come.
He was also a gifted mechanic whose hands and mind brought machines to life. From cars to trucks, there was no challenge he couldn’t meet. He took pride in every repair, always going the extra mile to help friends, family, and neighbors. For many years, Willie was a familiar and beloved face of Greens Supper Club, where his unforgettable laugh and gift for storytelling made even ordinary days special.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Reggie and Sallie Shelton; his brother, Billy Shelton; and his sister, Virginia Powers.
He leaves behind his devoted wife of 58 years, Wanda Shelton, whose love was beautifully intertwined with his in a partnership marked by enduring love, commitment, and unwavering devotion. He is also survived by his loving children, Kevin Shelton (Karina), Barry Shelton (Tiffany), and Sandra Blanchard (Preston); Willie is further survived by his brothers, Lee Shelton and Henry Shelton; sister, Betty Permar; 11 cherished grandchildren; 6 precious great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Molly.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in the love he shared, the life he lived, and the legacy he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
