William Billy Childress

Reidsville – William “Billy” Childress, of 6592 US 29 Business, died on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at his home. Graveside services with will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at Evergreen Memory Gardens with Rev. Mike Tillman officiating. Billy was born in Rockingham County to the late Leonard and Elizabeth Snow Childress. He was a retiree of the Rockingham County Transportation Department, an independent truck driver and of Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Angela Carter Childress; sons, Bill, Lynn, Richard and Gary Childress; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren and special companion, Rusty. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home, Monday evening from 6-8 pm and other times at the home. The family would like to thank Dr. Hawkins and his staff, Annie Penn Hospital, and Hospice of Rockingham County for the wonderful care given to Billy during his illness.
