William "Billy" Lester Barker

William “Billy” Lester Barker, 80, of 1171 Flat Rock Road,  went home to be with The Lord Monday, October 24, 2022, at his home.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Fairview Baptist Church with Pastor Heath Lloyd officiating and the family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at the church prior to the service. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Billy was born in Rockingham County and was the son of the late Willie and Novella Barker. He was an avid NASCAR fan and worked his whole career as an auto mechanic. Billy was well known for his expertise in the auto industry. Along with his parents he was also preceded in death by his sisters Katherine Howerton and Nellie Stone.

He is survived by his sons William Barker, Jr. and wife Kathie, Jerry Barker and wife Lisa, and Mark Barker and wife Laura; grandchildren Ashley Judy and husband David, Taylor Summers and husband Jesse, Kayla Nguyen and husband Alex, Brooke Neal and husband Jacob, Matthew Barker, Mitchell Barker, Mason Barker, Dillon Barker, and Weston Barker; great grandchildren Marshall, Callie, Violet, Nolan, Hadley, Heidi, and Lena; sister Barbara Jones and husband Ronnie; brother James Barker and wife Donna; brother-in-law David Howerton; and a large extended family.
