Wayne Vernon Perkins

Wayne Vernon Perkins, 73, passed away on  September 1, 2023, at  Alamance Regional Hospital.

There will be a graveside service held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Gary Loftis and Rev. D.L. Perry will be officiating.

Wayne was born in Rockingham County to Hallie Mansfield Perkins and the late Willis Thomas Perkins. He worked in textiles and enjoyed hunting and working with leather. His greatest love was being a country singer and playing the guitar. He also had many good times at the family cookouts. Along with his father he was preceded in death by his sisters Marie Mansfield and Virginia  Perkins.

Survivors are his mother Hallie Mansfield Perkins; son Jesse Wayne Perkins; brothers Jeff Perkins and Weyland Perkins and wife Nancy; best friend Mary Ingles and many nieces and nephews.

Wilkerson Funeral Home is assisting the  Perkins family.
