Wallace "Wally" Edward Cook

Wallace “Wally” Edward Cook, 85, passed away on February 23, 2024, at his home.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 25^th, 2024, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Phil Surrett Officiating.  The family will receive friends briefly following the service at the funeral home, and a private burial will follow the  at Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Wally was born on April 17, 1938, in Caswell County to the late Edd Cook and Jennie Duncan Cook.   He was a graduate of Bartlett Yancey High School, Lees McRay College and North Carolina State University.  He was a mechanical engineer and was passionate about his work.  Wally loved traveling, playing golf with his friends and being at the beach.  His biggest passion was his family.

Wally was married to his wife, Christine “Chris” Cook for 66 years and they had two sons, Wallace Edward “Ed” Cook, II (Suzanne) of Mt. Pleasant, SC and James Anthony “Andy” Cook (Cathy) of Isle of Palm, SC; grandchildren, Lauren Bishop (Randall), Elizabeth Cook, Charles Cook, Kendal Bittner (Aaron) Caroline Perrine (Josh), Alexander Cook and Maxwell Cook and seven great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church, 85 Pleasant Grove Church Road, Yanceyville, NC 27379 or charity of donor’s choice.
