Wallace "Wayne" Taylor

Wallace “Wayne” Taylor, 69, of Ruffin, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Moses Cone Hospital. 

Wayne was born to the late Willie and Irene Taylor in Durham, NC. He retired from American Tobacco and Commonwealth Tobacco after a full career in the industry. He was a devoted husband, stepdad and step-grandparent. He loved camping and taking trips with Lynn in their camper. He loved and lived life to the fullest. 

After retirement, He and Lynn lived by the motto: “We’re gonna live life like it’s our last day and live life like it’s our first day.” 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters, Jean Crews and Laverne Allen and his stepmother Ethel Taylor. 

Wayne is survived by his wife, Lynn; brother, Willie Taylor (Diana) of Conway, SC; stepdaughters, Tracy Jones (Dennis) and Lisa Dotson (Jason); brother-in-law, Gary Hicks (Jewelie); grandchildren, Taylor, Christian and Haley; several nieces and nephews; and many loving friends. 

At his request, there will be no services at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association at 55 W. Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601.
