Virginia Scott Page

Ruffin – Virginia Scott Page, 103, of 2309 Estes Road passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 2, 2008, after years of a wonderful and fulfilling life. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, August 5, 2008 at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Arthur Holland officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Page was born in Rockingham County to the late Thomas and Sally McKinney Page. Virginia was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church and the oldest member of the church. She worked at Dan River Mills and was a homemaker. Mrs. Page enjoyed the visits from her friends and neighbors and appreciated their many acts of kindness. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Johnnie T. Page; daughter, Mary Frances; six sisters and five brothers. Virginia is survived by her sons, Eugene Page and wife, Barbara of Elon College, Harold Page and wife, Claudine of Ruffin and Ronald Page and wife Patricia of Concord, NC; daughters, Dorothy Gilmore of Reidsville and Nancy Kennedy and husband, James of Atlanta, GA ; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Monday, August 4, from 6-8 PM and other times at the home. The Page family wishes to express a special thank you to Mrs. Page’s caregivers; Marissa Edwards, Katie Porterfield and Crystal Gaston and a very special thank you to Ellen Robbins, a volunteer caregiver from Caregivers of Rockingham County, Unifi Home Heath Care and Hospice of Rockingham County. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Virginia Page’s memorial fund, c/o Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church; 361 Mt.
