Virginia "Carol" Toler Walker

Virginia “Carol” Toler Walker, 85, went home to be with our Lord on Friday, February 18, 2022. She was born in Reidsville, NC to the late Lloyd and Matilda Chapmon Toler.

  Affectionately known as Carol to family and friends, she graduated from Reidsville High School in 1955 then married about a year later. Carol was a loving wife and devoted mother. Motherhood was special to Carol and she was known to dote on her two children with made-to-order meals. As an avid reader she always looked to further her education by earning an Associates Degree in Bookkeeping from Thomas Nelson Community College and also studied Real Estate. As Carol matured, her family devotion extended to teaching and spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed meeting with her former High School classmates by attending several class reunions over the years; most recently attended the 63rd. Sweet and loving Carol will be deeply missed by family and friends.

  Carol is also preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Norman Ashley Walker. She is survived by her son Stephen (Monica) and daughter Denise; grandchildren Crystal (Brian) and Stacy (Greg); great grandchildren Sierra, Shyanne, Eric and Stone. She is also survived by her brother James Toler; sisters Louise Barker and Mary Pruitt (Robert); loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, and a host of long-time friends.

  On Monday February 21, 2022, the family will receive friends at 11:00 am at Wilkerson Funeral Home followed by a graveside service, 12 pm, at Evergreen Memory Gardens, both in Reidsville, NC.
