Vincent " Pete" Odell Griffin

Vincent “Pete” Odell Griffin, 87 of Reidsville passed away peacefully at home on Monday, November 15, 2021.

A funeral service will be held at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Friday, November 19, 2021, at 2 PM with Rev. Greg Bouck officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and the burial will follow at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pete was born in Rockingham County to the late John Vincent Griffin and Lydia Virginia Page Griffin. He was a member of Monticello United Church of Christ. Pete was a police officer for the city of Greensboro and then became a truck driver for Signal Delivery and retired after many years of service. He was a veteran of both the US Air Force and the US Army. He loved history and was very well read. His favorite TV show was Jeopardy. Pete was a talented self-taught woodworker whose work was second to none. He was passionate about furniture making. Many have benefited from the huge garden he always grew and shared generously with others. Most of all, he loved his family. Pete was very proud of his girls and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Nell Green Griffin; daughter, Lisa Kingree; granddaughter, Logan Kingree and great grandson, Oliver Paschal.

Pete is survived by his daughters, Lori Nance (Randy), Leslie Pate (Eric), Lyndi Forehand (Greg), Libbi Mitchell (Jeff); son-in-law, Bill Kingree; grandchildren, Lindsay, Leah, Jake, Lexi, Lauren, Alexandra, Nick, Leanna, Luke and Roman; great grandchildren, McKenna, Peyton, Tyler, Evie, Hayden, Mila, Leo, Colt and Oakleigh; sisters, Katie Rice and Virginia Ann Soyars along with a large and loving group of extended family and friends.
