Miss Victoria Kay Overby of Ruffin went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 22, 2026, at her home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Mayfield Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, with Joey Kutlik officiating. The family will receive friends from 5–7 PM, Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
Vicky was born on May 1, 1945, to the late Percy and Lucille Overby. She was raised on her family farm and resided in her childhood home. She retired from Zarn after 37 years. For many years, she was a faithful member of Mayfield Missionary Baptist church. She enjoyed reading, doing word searches, puttering around the farm, and spending time with her family. Her home was considered the “central hub,” where the family enjoyed discussing memories of their time in tobacco and sharing many meals together. She had a gracious heart, humble spirit, and a contagious laugh. She was a pillar of the Overby family and will be greatly missed.
She is proceeded in death by her parents; siblings, Rodger, Ann, Fred, Lewis, Ricky, and Gail; and son, Bobby “Tyson” Overby. Left to cherish her memory are her granddaughter, Grace Elledge (Matt); great-grandsons, Harrison and Wes, all of Roanoke, VA; niece of the home, Kitty Cannon; daughter-in-law of the home, Liz Bauman; granddaughter, Josie Kutlik of Ruffin; grandson, Ty Kutlik of Anchorage, Alaska; sister, Karen Johnson (James) of Reidsville; as well as MANY loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In Lieu of flowers, the family ask for donations to St. Jude Children’s hospital, as Vicky was an avid supporter of many, many charities and foundations.
