Thomas Preston Lawrence

Ruffin -Thomas Preston Lawrence, born February 16, 1928, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Monday, August 6, 2012. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Gladys Kendrick Lawrence; son, Clyde (wife, Debbie); two daughters, Linda Ellington and Sharon Myers (husband, Tim); 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 4 brothers, Dewey (wife, Lorene), Odell (wife, Faye), Glynn (wife, Betty) and Elmer (wife, Bonnie) and one sister, Edrie Strader (husband, Aubrey) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his parents, John and Mary Dickerson Lawrence; brother, Ray and sister, Eva Chrismon. He was a member of Afton Road Primitive Baptist Church in Danville, VA.The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Interment will be at Dan River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
