Thomas Leonard Bailey

Thomas Leonard Bailey, 78, of Eden went home to be with The Lord Friday, February 18, 2022, surrounded by his loving family at the Gibson Hospice Home.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, February 20, 2022, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Dr. Terry Lawson and Rev. Mike Chrismon officiating. The burial will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Thomas was born in Danville, VA and was the son of the late Robert and Geraldine Bailey. Working was his passion, which included being the owner and operator of Bailey Plumbing for over 45 years, building houses, and anything else that needed to be done. He was a longtime, dedicated, and faithful member of New Heights Baptist Church for over 40 years where he served as Deacon and Usher. Thomas always had a servant’s heart and lived his life to be a blessing to others. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Along with his parents he was also preceded in death by his brothers Robert “Doc” Bailey, Carlton Bailey, and Wayne Bailey; sisters Ruby Barber and Gaynell Corum.

Thomas is survived by his wife Brenda East Bailey; daughters Lisa Bailey Major and husband Jeff and Linda Bailey Marks and husband Vincent; grandchildren Bailey, Kenzie, and Bryan; sisters Patricia White and husband Carson and Mildred Moorefield; brother Fred Bailey; brothers-in-law Ronnie East and wife Carol, and Allen East; sisters-in-law Sandra East, Wanda Yeatts and Cynthia Tate and husband George; nieces, nephews and a large extended family.
