Teresa Stokes Brown

Teresa Stokes Brown, 65, of Goldsboro, NC went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 28, 2021.

A funeral service will be held at 2PM on Sunday, January 2nd, 2022, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Dwayne Anders officiating. Burial will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Teresa was born in Rockingham County to the late Paul Witty and Doris Bowman. She faithfully attended The Salvation Army Corps of Reidsville and later in Goldsboro. She loved the Lord and especially loved family nights, thrift shopping, fellowshipping with friends, traveling to visit her siblings, and playing Bingo. She could often be found having lunch dates with her friends from Kirkwood specifically the “Golden Girls”. Most of all she loved her family she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Along with her parents, Teresa is preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Stokes Sr., brother, Paul Calvin Witty and sister, Sue Robertson.

She is survived by her sons, Phillip “Bean” Stokes Jr. and wife, Sherrie, Matthew Stokes and wife, Rebecca; grandchildren, LeighAnne, Phillip III “Bub”, Ryelee, Kyrie, Elaina, Jackson; Sisters, Linda Benfield, Jean Harris and husband, Ronnie, and Kay Watson; brother, Donnie Witty; loving canine companion, Ramble along with a large and loving group of extended family and friends in Reidsville and in Goldsboro.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made directly towards funeral expenses.
