Skip Gunn

Skip Gunn, 83 went to be with Jesus on Friday June 2, 2023, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, June 5, 2023, at East Side Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Davis officiating. The family will see friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00PM until 1:45 PM. Burial will follow the service at Evergreen Memory Gardens. At other times the family will be at the home.

Skip was born in Rockingham County to the late Nathan A. Gunn and Edith McClintock Gunn Manley and was a United States Veteran of the Army National Guard. He was a retiree of Burlington Industries and was a Deacon of East Side Baptist Church, where he was loved by all who attended. He was also a member of the Rockingham County Gun Club where he enjoyed spending time with his friends. Skip was Martha’s gift from God, chosen just for her and a wonderful friend to all. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepsister and her husband Carol and Preston Driscoll.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Martha Hale Gunn; brother Max Gunn and wife Virginia; stepbrother Benny Manley and numerous nieces and nephews.
