Listen to Obituary

Shelia Woods Corum, 77, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at her home in Reidsville.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM, on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Dr. Terry Lawson and Rev. Tim Huffman officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, from 5:00-7:00PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Shelia was born on September 29, 1948, in Rockingham County. A devoted Christian, she was a faithful, lifelong member of New Heights Baptist Church, where her love for the Lord was evident in the way she lived each day. More than anything, Shelia cherished reading her Bible, though she also found great enjoyment in reading Amish novels. She was a gifted homemaker who loved quilting, sewing, singing, and playing the piano, and she took great joy in passing her quilting and sewing talents on to her grandchildren. She found peace in watching and feeding birds, especially hummingbirds, and was blessed with a remarkable green thumb that seemed to make anything she planted flourish. Above all, Shelia was a devoted wife, mama, and nana whose nurturing spirit extended far beyond her own family. She lovingly cared for a multitude of children throughout her life, leaving a lasting impact on each one, and was a loyal friend whose kindness and gentle heart will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert and Nettie Woods; infant twin siblings, Melissa and Uel Woods; sister-in-law, Mary Woods; brother-in-law, William Hill.

She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Clyde “Frankie” Corum; children, Stephen Windell Corum (Tammy); Sonja Corum Cassell (James), and Jason Guy Corum; grandchildren, Shi-Anne Marie Corum, Joshua David Corum (Caitlin), Hannah Corum Turton (Billy), Jordan Windell Corum, Jonathan Stephen Corum, Christopher Gene Cassell (Tonya), Megan MeKaylen Lawson (Danny), Morganne Lee Lawson Land (Michael), Asa James Cassell, Peyton Shelbey Brown (Josh), and Jayden Kaley Corum; great-grandchildren, Everest and Weston Turton, Parker and Paxton Corum, Haleigh and Tyler Cassell, Georgia, Wynonna, and Tony Land, Henry Brown; brother, Elbert Wayne Woods; sister, Sonia Denise Hill; special sister-in-law, Marsha Lankford; special friend, Travis Loftis; and furbabies, Mickey and Teddy.
