Shelby Earles Paschal

Shelby Earles Paschal, 85, of Reidsville, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, to be with her Lord and Saviour, on Thursday February 26th, 2026.

A funeral service will be held at Wilkerson Funeral Home, Tuesday March 3rd, 2026 at 2:00 PM, on her 86th birthday, with Pastor Wesley Byerly officiating. A visitation will be held the night before from 6-8 at the funeral home. The family will be accepting friends and family at other times at the home of her son Glenn Paschal.

Shelby loved to use her beautiful voice to sing to the Lord, for family gatherings, churches, and nursing homes with her husband Rogers. She loved meeting new people and making friends, especially during the years they were able to go camping. She and Rogers loved to have breakfast at Biscuitville every morning, followed by a trip to Goodwill. Shelby spent countless hours tending to her numerous flower gardens around her home, sharing many of the cuttings with family, friends and neighbors. While she was able, she loved to make wreaths and flower arrangements for special occasions. She was also known as a very talented seamstress, having sewn many a wedding dress for family members. Although she didn’t necessarily enjoy it, she was an amazing cook, preferring to be outside working in her flower gardens. One of her most endearing qualities she was best known for was her ability to recall anyone’s name she ever met. She could also instantly recite the entire family tree of most people in Rockingham County better than they could. Shelby met many people through her many years of working as a personnel manager, retail manager, and office manager. 

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years Rogers J. Paschal, her parents, B.C. and Gracie Earles; brothers, Junior Earles and Ralph Earles; sisters, Lorene Land and Mary Arrington.

Shelby is survived by her loving children, Glenn R. Paschal (Mylinda), Dee Dee Huffman (David). Grandchildren, David, II and Danielle Huffman. Sister-in-law Katherine Earles; cousin, Jerry Earles; as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews. There are also many close friends who became part of her extended family who were very dear to her heart.
