Ruth K. Woodson-Sizemore, 87, of Ruffin, went home to be with the Lord on October 8, 2026, while in hospice care, surrounded by the love and support of her family.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Ron Tuck and Pastor Jerry Lankford officiating. The family will receive friends and loved ones at the funeral home one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Ruth was a woman of deep faith who loved the Lord and her family above all else. The youngest of sixteen siblings, she lived a life marked by hard work, kindness, prayer, and an unwaveringly positive outlook. She was always happy, choosing to look on the bright side of life, and continually encouraged her family to be the best they could be and to live their lives with purpose.

She was a homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family and making sure they always had what they needed. She was also a talented pianist who played for 50 years in various churches throughout her community. She loved to cook and was especially known for making the BEST biscuits! Ruth also retired from Kmart in Reidsville after 27 years of service.

Ruth was married to Frank E. (John) Woodson for 49 years. Together, they raised their three children, Steve, Nancy, and Mark, while working hard on the farm and building a home filled with love and care. Later in life, Ruth married Julius Vance Sizemore. They shared 21 years together, enjoying traveling and attending the Antique Thresher’s Convention in Denton, NC.

In addition to her love for the Lord and her family, Ruth will be remembered for her encouraging spirit, her faithful prayers for those she loved, her hard-working nature, and the warmth she brought to those around her.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husbands, Frank E. (John) Woodson and Julius Vance Sizemore; her parents, Callie M. and David Keatts; and all sixteen of her siblings.

She leaves behind her loving children, Steve E. Woodson, Nancy Holt (Ron), and Mark Woodson (Star); her stepchildren, Vivian Sizemore Rivers, Kim Parham (Raye), and Lisa Sizemore (Keith Meshlovitz); and her grandchildren, Jessica Woodson, Hunter Woodson (Hannah), Bethany Amos (Lee), and Brenson French (Sarah). She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom will cherish her memory.

The family extends a special thank-you to Dr. Bhutani and Nurse Practitioner Tiffany Wise at Reidsville Kidney Specialists, as well as Abbey Hylton and the staff at Silver Treasures, for the comfort, compassion, and support they provided to Ruth and her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ancora Compassionate Care at 2150 NC-65, Reidsville, NC 27320.

Ruth’s faith, love, and devotion to her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
