Robert "Bobby" Carl Robinson Sr., 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Gibson House in Reidsville, NC.
Bobby’s happiest moments were spent on horseback, riding his beloved Jack across open fields and quiet country trails. Together they shared countless miles; just a man, his horse, and the peace that came with wide skies and open land. When he wasn’t riding, Bobby found comfort by the water with a fishing rod or, in earlier years, walking the fairways of his favorite golf courses. Whether casting a line or lining up a shot, he embraced the calm and patience these simple pleasures brought him. A gifted mechanic, Bobby poured his heart into the shop he built and ran for many years. Friends and neighbors came to him not only for repairs but for honesty, laughter, and conversation. His shop became a place where engines were fixed, stories were shared, and community was strengthened. Faith guided Bobby’s life. He loved his Lord Jesus deeply and lived out that love in quiet, steadfast ways; through kindness, humility, and a willingness to help anyone who needed him.
Family meant everything to Bobby. He is survived by his children; Tammy Oxford, Deborah Wyrick, Reverend Robert Robinson, Ronald Robinson, and Jessica Abbott, each carrying forward pieces of his strength, humor, and gentle spirit. He is also survived by his brother, Reverend David Robinson, and six dearly loved nieces and nephews. His pride in his grandchildren; Christy Carroll, Robert Robinson, Brittany Cheek, Debra Washburn, Zachery Robinson, and Ajay Robinson was immeasurable. He cherished his ten great‑grandchildren and four great‑great‑grandchildren, holding each one as a precious gift.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Jacqueline Robinson; his sisters, Jessica “Kay” Martin and Cynthia “Cindy” Trollinger; and his brother, Ronald “Steve” Robinson, with whom he is now joyfully reunited in Heaven. Though he has ridden ahead of us, the love he shared and the lessons he lived remain firmly planted in the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy endures in memories, stories, and the values he passed down.
A celebration of Bobby’s life will be held at Faith Christian Church on Saturday, February 28 at 2 p.m., where loved ones will gather to honor the cowboy, the mechanic, the fisherman, the golfer, the man of faith, and the family man they were blessed to know. May he rest in peace.
