Rebecca “Becky” Crowder Garrison, 81, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Moses Cone Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Wray officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Evergreen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the Funeral Home from 1:30-3:00pm and other times at the home of her daughter, Tammy Brame.
Becky was born on February 14, 1944, to the late John and Edith Crowder. She began her working career at Miller Brewing Company for 16 years before going on to retire from the Rockingham County School System after 24 years of service. Even after retiring at the age of 74, she still worked part-time up until her passing.
She was known for her special talent and passion for seasonal décor in her home. She also enjoyed cooking, being outdoors and working in her flower gardens. Becky loved the holidays, especially Christmas, going on outings with her husband, Myron, daughters, and her special friend group.
Becky was loved by everyone who met her and she never met a stranger. She will be remembered for her kind soul, her giving nature, and being the matriarch of the family. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by all.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Blanche Crowder; son, Craig Garrison; sister, Anne Pastore and an infant sister.
Becky is survived by her husband of 41 years, Myron Garrison; children, Tammy Brame (Michael), Shannon Cheshire (Mike “Fuzz”); step-children, Michelle Smith and Tammy Apple; granddaughter, Britanna Smith; great-grandson, Damon Smith; brother, Daryl Crowder (Heather); sister, Amy Stone (Brian); nieces and nephews, Hailey, Lacey, Holden, and Mason; along with her special fur baby, Toby.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Rockingham County Animal Shelter.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the nurses and doctors at the Moses Cone Hospital 4N ICU department for providing exceptional care.
