Ramona Buchanan

Ramona Buchanan, 92, of Liberty, NC, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 18th, 2026. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, in the home that she shared with her great granddaughter Debbie Whitt, Great grandson in law TJ and their 3 children.

Ramona was born on October 4th, 1933, in Maryville, Illinois, to John and Florence Heller. She was preceded in death by her husband Douglas Buchanan, both her parents and all of her siblings. 

She is survived by her daughter Ruth Staab (Maurice), son Tim Buchanan, grandson Lenard Stinson (Brenda), granddaughter Jasmine Buchanan, great granddaughter Debbie Whitt (TJ) their children Sabrina, Everly and Spencer, great granddaughter Michelle Wood (Jordan), great granddaughter Autumn Michael (Chris) and their children Ryder and Lynnlee, great granddaughter Gabrielle Smith (Fred) and their children Tyler and Phoenix. She also left behind many special friends and people who she considered family.

Ramona retired after 41 years from Lorillard Tobacco Company. She worked her way up through the company, doing every job that paid a penny more. She eventually became a supervisor before she retired.

Ramona loved to bowl. She was on several different leagues throughout her life and she continued to bowl until she was in her late 80s. She was also presented with many awards and trophies. Ramona loved to travel to different places and visit her loved ones. Out of all of her hobbies and things that she loved to do, she loved visiting her family the most. She enjoyed playing games with her great great grandchildren and telling them stories.

Ramona had the kindest soul and the happiest spirit. She loved to help anyone that she could. Her love for everyone was endless. She will be forever missed.

We will be having a memorial service to celebrate her amazing life on Saturday, March 28th, 2026, 3 pm - 5 pm at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Reidsville, NC.
