Raleigh Samuel Stone

Mayodan - Raleigh Samuel Stone, 73, of 501 N. Ayersville Road, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Moses Cone Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 10, 2008,  at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Eanes officiating.   Interment will follow in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery with military graveside rites. Mr. Stone was born in Rockingham County to the late Herbert E. and Parthena Payne Stone.  He was a veteran of the US Army and was of the Baptist faith.   Mr. Stone was retired from Neese’s Sausage after many years of service.     Survivors include his son, Ronnie Dean Stone of Sanford, NC; daughter, Angela S. Wood and husband, Thomas of Reidsville; grandchildren, Kelly Cox and husband, C. W., Amber Young,   Katelyne Wood and Zachary Stone; great-grandchild, Dallas Cox; brother, Ralph Stone and wife, Nellie of Reidsville; sisters, Nancy Sossoman of Eden,  Betty Overby and husband, Jim of Reidsville. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, one hour prior to the service.   Other times the family will be at the home of his brother, Ralph and Nellie Stone, at 450 Sandy Cross Road and his daughter, Angela and Thomas Wood, 1247 Rockingham Lake Road.
