After a beautiful and well-lived life, Pauline McCollum Gibson, 91, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2026.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Ryan Burris officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Pauline was born in Rockingham County to the late Leon and Wilmer McCollum. After graduating from Reidsville High School, she later married the love of her life and built a long happy marriage and devoted family.
Pauline was a former Sunday School teacher, volunteered her time as a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader all while working as a partner for Gibson Auto Sales.
Pauline was a devoted member of Baptist Temple Church; she quietly instilled her Christian values in her children and grandchildren. She was the most faithful prayer warrior for those she knew and loved and even for those she never met. She leaves a legacy of warmth, kindness and generosity and was loved by all who knew her.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Robert W. Gibson; son, Britt L. Gibson; son-in-law, Jim Miller; siblings, Elbert McCollum, Conwell McCollum, and Kathleen Lovings.
Pauline is survived by her daughters, Kathy G. Hawkins (Mike), Cindy G. Miller; grandchildren, Crystal R. Ball, Robert L. Marsh II (Ashley); great grandchildren, Ayden, Carson, Sydnee, Lucas, and Jeremiah as well as a large and loving group of family and friends.
The Family is appreciative of the wonderful and excellent care provided by Ancora Compassionate Care and Brookdale Independent Living facilities.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ancora Compassionate Care at PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375 or Baptist Temple Church at 729 Wentworth Street, Reidsville NC 27320.
