With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Paula Wilson Brame, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, who left us surrounded by love and cherished memories.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Darrell Boles officiating. Burial will follow at Howard’s Chapel Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00am.
She was a woman of extraordinary kindness—loving, caring, funny, and brilliantly smart. She had a gift for making everyone feel seen, safe, and valued. Her laughter filled rooms, her wisdom guided generations, and her warmth created a home wherever she was.
A passionate reader and storyteller, she loved books and writing stories, sharing her imagination and creativity with those around her. She found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life—tending her garden, canning vegetables, and nurturing both plants and people with the same patience and devotion. Known as the best cook in the family, her kitchen was a place of comfort, tradition, and unforgettable meals that brought everyone together.
Family was her greatest treasure. She was the heart of a large, beautiful family, blessed with many children and grandchildren who were the pride of her life. Her love lives on in each of them, in the values she taught, the stories she told, the recipes she passed down, and the traditions she created.
Paula is survived by her husband of 58 years, James Douglas “Doug” Brame; children, Melissa Cross (Dan), Jason Brame (Paige), Scott Brame (Crystal), Julie Brame (Josh), Jeremy Brame (Meg); grandchildren, Jordan Cross, Bryson Edwards (Paige), Abby Brame, Cohen Brame, Jackson Brame, Henry Brame; great grandchild, Blair Vernon; step-grandchildren, Alan Cross (Kaiti) and Josh Cross (Laura); step-greatgrandchild, Arden Cross; sister, Maria Turner (David); in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Though we grieve her loss, we celebrate her life—a life full of love, laughter, faith, strength, and generosity. Her legacy will continue through the countless lives she touched and the family she built with so much devotion.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always
