Patrick "Pat" Oakes

Reidsville: Gene Patrick “Pat” Oakes,  57, of 8610 Spearman Road died   on Sunday, July 27, 2008 at his residence. Pat was born in Rockingham County to the late Gaither Samuel Oakes, Jr. and Mildred Lucille Smith Oakes.   He retired as a   Union Boilermaker after 38 years of service . He is survived by his wife, Betty Oakes of the home; daughter, Shannon Oakes Jones and husband, David of McLeansville; step children, Patricia Fleming and friend, Donnie Newman, Scott Fleming and wife, Brandy, all of Reidsville; grandchildren, Lee, Mitchell and Brooke; sister, Betty Davis of Graham.   The family will receive friends at the home.
