Novela Irene Baynes Draper

Maidson- Novelia Irene Baynes Draper, 85 of 910 Crowder Road, died on Monday, February 25, 2008 at Morehead Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Pleasantville Primtive Baptist Church. Novelia was born in Rockingham County to the late Charles Franklin Baynes and Ida McCollum Baynes. She was a member of Comer’s Chapel Baptist Church, where she had served as the church secretary and was active in the WMU. She also attended Antioch Baptist Church in Reidsville and Oasis Baptist Church in Madison. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and was an artist. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edmond Draper and brother, C.F. Baynes, Jr. She is survived by her son, Frankie Draper and wife, Rebecca of Raleigh; daughter, Diane Kacerquis of Florida; grandchildren, Nikki Braswell and husband, Frank of Concord and James F. Draper, Jr. of Raleigh. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 27th from 7:00 – 9:00 PM. Other times the family will be at the residence.
