Nicholas Matthew Stinnett

Nicholas Matthew Stinnett, 38, of Greensboro, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026.

A Catholic Mass will be held at St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church at a later date, with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio.

Nick was born in Columbus, Ohio, to Tricia Gramling and Matthew Stinnett. He spent most of his life in Columbus before moving to North Carolina, where he lived for the last 12 years of his life. Nick lived a pretty quiet life for the most part. Unless you knew him well, Nick was a man of few words. But those who did know him knew that he was a funny, smart, sarcastic, and caring individual who had so much to offer. Nick was always the smartest person in the room. He was brilliant and could figure almost anything out. His passion for computers, space, F1 racing, and Legos filled his time. He loved animals, and they adored him. He had a very tender heart. He was your friendly neighborhood locksmith who would be there to help anytime you needed him.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Janet and George Gramling; paternal grandparents, Fay and A.J. Stinnett; and cousin, Benjamin Gramling.

He is survived by his mother, Tricia Parsons; father, Matthew Stinnett (Cherie); brothers, Vincent Stinnett (Danielle) and Christian Chapman (Megan); aunts and uncles, Luke Stinnett, Mark Stinnett, Ava Stinnett, Leslie Castoe, John Stinnett (Teresa), Jeffrey Gramling (Cheryl), Scott Gramling (Holly), and Kari McEowen (Jack); and nieces, Avery Stinnett and Rylie Stinnett.

Nick will be remembered for being a loving son and brother. He loved his family and was loved by many. Nick’s memory will live on forever in all of us.
