Miranda Brooks Carter, age 42, met her Savior, Jesus Christ, following a tragic car accident on December 10, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Lively Stones Baptist Church, with Pastors Michael Kent and Darrell Massey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:30 PM prior to the service, and at other times at the home.
Miranda was a deeply cherished mother, God-honoring and devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, whose life was defined by her boundless love, warm spirit, and unwavering faith. She faithfully nurtured her relationship with Christ and joyfully served as a Sunday School teacher at Lively Stones Baptist Church, where her gentle heart and servant spirit touched many lives.
Born in Alamance County, North Carolina, Miranda was an accomplished and driven woman. She earned her degree in Culinary Arts and Hotel & Restaurant Management from GTCC and completed three years in the teaching program at UNCG. While she had many talents and achievements, her greatest joy and calling was raising her two beautiful daughters, Annabelle and Madilynn.
Annabelle fondly remembers her mother reading to her each night, wrapping stories in love and comfort. Madilynn treasures the memory of their family trip to a buffalo farm in the mountains—a reflection of Miranda’s love for creating meaningful experiences and lasting memories. Her husband, Teddy, lovingly recalls their annual trips to the mountains and the beach and admires Miranda as a wife and mother who honored God in her marriage, loved her family fiercely, and truly never met a stranger.
Her mother, Denise, will remember Miranda as a God-honoring daughter who exemplified Exodus 20:12, demonstrating love, joy, and faithfulness to her family and to others each and every day. Denise will forever cherish how often Miranda expressed her gratitude and affection, tenderly saying, “I love you, Mama. Thank you.”
Miranda loved cooking, spending time with the various homeschool groups her family attended, and investing deeply in the lives of those around her. Her kindness, generosity, and genuine care left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. Her presence brought warmth, her words brought encouragement, and her love reflected Christ.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Teddy Carter; daughters, Annabelle and Madilynn Carter; mother, Denise Cheek; sister, Ginger Gisi; nieces, Livia Gisi and Mariah of Fayetteville; father- and mother-in-law, Diego and LaDonna Boza; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her beloved canine companion, Sparkles.
She was preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Thomas Brooks; grandparents, June and Peggy Payne, Sadie and Robert Brooks, and Margie and Otis Holland.
Miranda’s life was a testimony of faith, love, and service. She will be forever loved, deeply missed, and joyfully remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
