Michael "Mikey" Joel Washburn

Michael “Mikey” Joel Washburn, 31, of Reidsville, NC passed away unexpectedly and went to be with the Lord on August 3^rd, 2023.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Jeffrey Petress officiating and the burial will follow the service at Reidlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family on Tuesday, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Mikey was a wonderful and proud father, an amazing son and brother.  He was a diehard Tarheels fan and an all-around lover of all sports.  He loved playing softball and watching his daughter Maysen dance and Maclin play ball.  He had a way of making anyone he came in contact with smile and laugh.  He was loved and admired by many. 

He is survived by his children Maysen Washburn and Maclin Washburn; his best friend and mother of his children, Amber Holder; his mother Pam Chatman Phipps and stepfather Billy Phipps; his father Michael T Washburn and wife Kak; sisters Jamie Lynn Ward Freer, Nalin Washburn,  Sanao Washburn, Eryn Phipps and Jessica Young Mayton; brothers, Cole Washburn and wife Deb, and Blake Phipps; grandparents Lynda Massey McDaniel, Joe Chatman and wife Barbara; nieces Malaiya Freer and Claire Washburn; nephews Levi Freer, Caden Washburn, Wyatt Washburn and Areon Phipps.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Elwood and Frances Washburn and cousin Nick McCollum.
