Michael Wayne Arey

Michael Wayne Arey, 62, of Reidsville, went home to be with the Lord on May 25, 2026. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Kerr’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, with Pastor Mike Jones officiating. Burial will follow the service. The family will receive friends immediately afterward.

Mike loved to fish, enjoyed NASCAR, and was especially proud of his Camaro. Most of all, he loved his family deeply and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. He also proudly served in the United States Marine Corps.

Michael was born in Rockingham County to Richard Arey and Betty Bailey. Along with his parents, Mike is survived by his wife of four years, Chasity Arey; his daughter, Shelby Mullis; grandson, Noah Mullis; step-dad, Preston Bailey; brother, James Bailey and wife, Teresa; half-sister, Deanna Cox and husband, Mark; and step-sister, Paula Bailey and husband, Tim.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to assist with funeral expenses at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
