Mabel Lovin Hall

GREENSBORO- Mabel Lovin Hall, age 90 of Friends Home at Guilford, passed away peacefully, Saturday,March 1, 2008. At her request, there will be a graveside service at 11:00 AM , Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at Forest Lawn Cemetery, with her nephew, Dennis Lovin officiating. Living in Greensboro most of her life, Mabel was born in Commerce, Georgia on September 2, 1917 to the late Charles Edward Lovin and Martha Coffey Lovin. She retired from Western Electric after 30 years of service and was a charter member of the Pioneers of America. Mabel was a member of Friendly Ave. Baptist Church, where she served in as Class President for 10 years. Mabel was married to the late Ralph Hall. Though she had no children of her own, she was a mother figure to many nieces and nephews. She was a great inspiration to all who knew her. One of her greatest loves was traveling to places like, Australia, Alaska, Hawaii, England, Paris and New Zealand. She also loved dolls and had a collection of over 300 at one time. Left to cherish her memories are two nieces, Shelia Johnson and husband, Tom of Tawunda, Australia; Sandra Causey of Reidsville; two nephews, Larry Causey and wife Beverly (caregiver) of Reidsville, and Dennis Lovin and wife, Luann of Huntsville, Alabama, 8 great nephews and nieces and 10 great great-nephews and nieces; godchild, Debbie Westmoreland. There will be no formal visitation; however, the family will receive friends at the home of Larry and Beverly Causey, 211 Thomas Trail, Reidsville. The family wishes no flowers, but memorial contributions may be made to Friends Home of Guilford, 925 New Garden Road, Greensboro, NC 27410. The family wishes to express their thanks to everyone at Friends Homes for the wonderful care Mabel received. The many hours they spent making sure she was comfortable, bathed and fed. Maybe they would push her to the library for a book or just sit and talk to her when she was lonely. They became a wonderful extended family and took care of her as though she was their family.
