Lucille Bolden Tilley

Lucille Bolden Tilley, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, at Ancora Compassionate Care, at the age of 92. Born on April 12, 1933, Lucille lived a life filled with love, faith, and joy. She worked for many years as a teacher assistant, where her kind heart and gentle encouragement touched the lives of countless children. Her compassion, patience, and dedication made a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. Lucille had a passion for dancing and could light up any room with her graceful moves and radiant smile. Her love for music and movement reflected her joyful spirit and her ability to find beauty in life’s simple moments.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.E. and Margie Bolden; her loving husband, John Tilley; and ten siblings. Lucille is survived by her five daughters: Janice Deal (Lenny), Kay Alverson (Houston), Bonnie Thacker (Randy), Sheila Gwynn, and Renee Toney (Craig); her sister, Jackie Neal; along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Lucille will be remembered for her warm heart, her laughter, and the love she shared so freely with others.

 A Memorial service will be held to celebrate the life of Lucille at 2:00PM on November 9, 2025 at Brighter Day Ministry Church, 509 Eagle Falls Rd., Madison, NC 27025. The Rev. Wayne Sexton, Jr. will be officiating the service.

The family will be accepting friends from Tuesday to Thursday at the home of Bonnie and Randy Thacker, 140 Green Meadow Loop, Reidsville, NC 27320
