Lois Anne Duke Rudd

Lois Anne Duke Rudd, 81 passed away July 19,2026 at home with her family. She was the daughter of the late Bernie and Anne McCollum Duke. She is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lionel Rudd; sister, Bernadina Duke Wyatt; brothers, W.N. Duke and Michael Duke; nephews, Ben Duke and Terry Duke.

She is survived by her daughter, Emily Moore and son-in-law Jason Moore (her “buddy”); her precious grandsons, Lane Michael Moore (Heather) and Caden Lee Moore (Samantha); nieces, Kim Wyatt, Janet Sadowski, Phyllis Cayton (Dean); nephews, Tyler Duke (Lynn) and Keith Wyatt (Cathy); several great-nieces and nephews and a large group of loving friends and extended family.

Lois faithfully attended Growing Oaks Community Church. She will be remembered as a faithful Christian and a loyal servant to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She had great love for family and friends and enjoyed fixing Sunday lunch for her family. Many looked forward to gatherings in her home where her gifts of cooking and hospitality were on full display. She welcomed them like family.

Lois was employed by Rockingham County Schools in the finance department for 37 years. She was a member of the North Carolina Association of Educational Office Professionals. Lois served as state president of the organization in 1984 and 1985. She enjoyed reading, spending time with family, and watching Hallmark movies.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Dr. Greg Robertson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, July 21st, 2026 at the funeral home and other times at the family home. A committal will follow the service at Reidlawn Cemetery.
