Lindola Baity

Lindola Pruitt Baity or Nannie as she was affectionately known to so many, 84, went home to be with the Lord on June 12, 2025.

A native of Person County she was one of thirteen children. Tending a family farm together taught Lindola the importance of being both hardworking and caring. These principles would define her throughout her entire life. Although even while working in the tobacco fields she still found time for a little mischief, such as, when she got into her father’s snuff. A mistake she swore she would never do again. She would continue working hard raising three boys and working as a seamstress. Her desire to care for others would ultimately lead her to find her passion as a nurse. A job she would do faithfully until her retirement. Another large part of Lindola’s life was her love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a faithful member of the McLeansville Baptist Church and it was her hearts desire that all, but especially her family and friends, come to the saving knowledge of Jesus and his free gift of salvation. Some of her other hobbies include sewing/crafting, puzzles, and reading.

Lindola is preceded in death by her father, Joe Randall Pruitt; mother Mary Lorena Groff Pruitt; siblings Johnny Lee Pruitt, Williard Pruitt, Joe Owen Pruitt, Albert Kenneth Pruitt, Cora Belle Pruitt, Lillian Irene Lloyd, Thelma Pauline Collins, and Isabell Frances Bonner “Mickey”. A loving husband Junior Baity, and two sons Terry Lynn Wilson and Gary Alex Wilson.

Lindola is survived by siblings, Barbara Ann Tuggle and husband Tommy of Danville, VA, Lois Jane Pleasant and husband Barry of Leasburg, Sandra Lou Saxena and husband Lee of Mesa, AZ, and Margie Sue Oakley and husband Dennis of Rougemont. Also surviving Lindola is her son Robert Greeson Wilson “Stump” and wife Lucy of Brown Summit; daughters in law Judy Lynn Wilson of Brown Summit, Shirley Mae Wilson of Reidsville; grandchildren Jessica Nicole Higdon and husband Dylan of Brown Summit, Amanda Michelle Cardillo and Nam of Brown Summit, Dylan Shane Wilson and wife Baleigh of Denton, and Joshua Collett and wife Lindsey of Brown Summit. Rounding out this large family are her five wonderful great grandchildren; Braleigh Austin, Josiah Grant Wilson, Weston Dean Wilson, Jameson Connor Higdon, and Oakley Rae Wilson along with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 17th at McLeansville Baptist Church in McLeansville, NC with Rev. Dylan Wilson officiating.
