Linda Walker Perkins

Linda Kay Walker Perkins, 78, passed away peacefully at her home with family on Monday, November 28, 2022.

A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Thursday December 1^st, 2022, at Evergreen Memory Gardens with Pastor Jake Dalton officiating.

Linda was born in Rockingham County to the late Jamie and Bessie Chapmon Walker. She was a hair stylist for 60 years working for other salons and owning her own business. She was extremely generous and always gave or fundraised for those in need. She loved cooking and gardening; many enjoyed the bounty of her vegetable garden. Even when her eyes began to fail, she loved to read her bible. Most of all she loved her family, especially her granddaughter and great grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Herbert Franklin Perkins; son, Scotty Franklin Perkins and 8 siblings.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Perkins Walters (Harvey); granddaughter, Tiffany Holt Bailey (David); great grandchildren,  Wyatt, Lucas, Colt, and Sophie Bailey; sister, Patsy Foster (Jim); brothers, Robert Walker, and Paul Walker (Rosie) as well as a loving extended family.

The family would like to express special thanks to Community Hospice for their care and kindness in a difficult season.
