Lester "Carroll" Garrett, Jr.

Lester “Carroll” Garret Jr., passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Annie Penn Hospital in Reidsville.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Hickory Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Lee Eggers officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Evergreen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church, beginning at 10:00AM, and other times at the home.

Carroll was born on April 15, 1944, to the late Lester and Doris P. Garrett. He was a graduate of Reidsville High School and then graduated from Oak Ridge Military Academy in 1964. He worked for American Tobacco as a supervisor, first in Louisville, KY and then in Reidsville, NC where he retired after 30 years. He was also a former member of the Board of Directors for Fellowship Hall Treatment Center in Greensboro, NC. Carroll was a history buff, but more than anything, he was a proud Pawpaw. He never met a stranger, was loved by everyone and will be deeply missed.

Carroll is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy Stanley Garrett; children, Alita Coggins Brisendine and husband Gary, Jeff Coggins and wife Sue, Donnie Coggins and wife Kim; grandchildren, Courtney Harless and husband Bobby, Jonathan Brisendine, Tai Monique Coggins; great-grandchildren, London Harless and Wyatt Harless.
