Lawrence "Marshall" Gilley

Lawrence “Marshall” Gilley, 71, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, August 14, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held at Osceola Baptist Sunday, August 22, 2021 at 3PM.

Marshall was born in Rockingham County to the late Lawrence Lester Gilley and Zelma Driver Gilley. He worked as a plumber for many years in Rockingham County. He loved the outdoors and hunting but mostly he enjoyed the hound music with the Reidsville Halifax hunting club. Marshall loved his canine companion Snap but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Gilley.

Marshall is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Janice Key Gilley ; sons, John Marshall Gilley (Kimberly) and Wesley Lawrence Gilley (Angela); grandchildren, Kala Sweet (Dalton), Emarie and Savannah Gilley; step grandchild, Jordan Jones; great grandchild, Payton Sweet; step great grandchild, Jace Jones; brother Jerry Gilley (Nancy) as well as a large and loving group of extended family and friends.
