Kathy Edwards Farmer

Kathy Edwards Farmer, 63, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2023.

The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Sunday, August 13, 2023, from 6:00- 8:00 PM and other times at the home.

Kathy was born in Rockingham County to Catherine Joyce Edwards and the late, David Hoover Edwards. She worked hard in the textile industry until she retired to be a caregiver to her husband and home school her grandchildren.  She was an excellent cook,  enjoyed crafting, making flower arrangements and was an avid reader.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She attended Calvary Hill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Kenneth Farmer; daughter, Janna Edwards; step daughters, Susan Overby and Melissa Pruitt (Donnie); grandchildren, Michael David Hopper, Joshua Dale Farmer (Eboni), Taylor Michelle Vernon (Dillon) , Chasity Lea Hairston (Taz), Brianna Nicole Overby and Christopher Isaiah Morton; 9 great grandchildren; mother, Catherine Edwards; brothers, Terry Edwards (Cindy) and Buddy Edwards; sisters-in-law, Rita Farmer and Patty Knight; brother-in-law, Mike Farmer.
