Katherine Minnie Moore Brown

Katherine Minnie Moore Brown, 95, of Eden, went home to be with her family in Heaven on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

Katherine was born in Guilford County to the late Henry Clay Moore and Elizabeth Taylor Walker Moore Bridges. She was truly one of a kind and full of spunk. A loving mother, she was affectionately known by her nickname, “Cat-Bird.” She never hesitated to speak her mind and was known for having no filter, something that made her both honest and unforgettable. She deeply loved and dearly missed her husband and son, often referring to them lovingly as “her men.”

In addition to her parents, Katherine was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Elwood D. Brown; her siblings, Elizabeth Moore McCall, Henry Lester “Lack” Moore, Sr., and Herman Lewis Moore; and her children, Elwood Wayne Brown and Debra K. Moore.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Cathy McCreary Puchalski Brown; three grandchildren, Patricia Puchalski Thacker and husband Steven, Debra Puchalski Baumann and husband Phillip, and Kenneth Wayne Brown; great-grandchildren, Paige, Samuell, Austin, Cameron, Brandon, Ashlyn, Grayson, Zachary, Colin, and Philip, Jr.; great-great-grandchildren, Piper, River, and C.J.; and extended family, including numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will have a private memorial service at another time.
