Justin "Caleb" Shelton

Greensboro: Justin “Caleb” Shelton, 27, of 6 Spring Oak Court entered the arms of his loving Lord and Savior on October 13, 2016. A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Morehead United Methodist Church, 3214 Horse Pen Creek Rd, Greensboro, NC 27410 with Rev. Spencer Shelton, Rev. Veranita Alvord and Rev. Amelia Black officiating. The burial will follow in Muirs Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation. Caleb has been a lifelong resident of Greensboro and graduated from Western Guilford High School. His big, infectious smile and loving personality warmly welcomed friendship everywhere he went. Caleb was a genuine, loving, compassionate and caring young man. His athleticism and gifts on the baseball field afforded him the opportunity to play beyond high school including playing time at A&T State University and St. Benedicts College. He was an avid fisherman and especially enjoyed fishing with his father and brother. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Ruby Shelton and his maternal grandfather, Marion J. “Popo” Weaver, Jr. He is survived by son, Cooper Kent Shelton; his loving parents, Steve and Mary Sue Shelton of the home; his brother and best friend, Chris Shelton and wife, Christina and their son, River of Greensboro; his paternal grandfather, Alvis J. “Pop” Shelton of Reidsville; his maternal grandmother, Laura Sue Welch and husband, Jay of Texas; a large extended family and many friends. Memorial contributions may made to Morehead United Methodist Church, 3214 Horse Pen Creek Rd, Greensboro, NC 27410 in Caleb’s honor.
