Born on December 20, 1946, in Reidsville, North Carolina, Judy was the daughter of the late Virge Perdew and Edna Strader Perdew whose values of love, faith, and family remained guiding principles throughout her life. Judy was preceded in death by her brother, Philip Perdew.
She lived a life rooted in faith, devoted to family, and defined by love, kindness, and laughter.
A faithful member of Hickory Grove United Methodist Church in Pelham, North Carolina, Judy's faith was the foundation of her life. Her trust in God guided her through every season and shaped the compassion, strength, and grace she shared with others.
At the center of Judy's life was her family. She shared a beautiful and enduring love with her husband, Wayne Dickerson, her soulmate and best friend. Together they built a life filled with cherished memories, unwavering devotion, and a love that inspired everyone around them.
Judy was a dedicated wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and loyal friend whose warmth drew people to her wherever she went. She possessed a wonderful sense of humor that could brighten any room, and because she never met a stranger, she effortlessly turned acquaintances into friends. Whether sharing a funny story, offering encouragement, or simply spending time with those she loved, Judy had a gift for bringing joy to others.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Wayne Dickerson; her son, Jeremy Dickerson; her daughter, Dana Lopez, and son-in-law, Arthur Lopez; her treasured granddaughters, Vela Lopez and Emerson Lopez; her brother, Barry Perdew; her sister-in-law, Sara Perdew; and many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
Family was Judy's greatest joy and proudest accomplishment. She celebrated life's milestones alongside her loved ones, offered comfort during difficult times, and loved each member of her family wholeheartedly. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life, and the love she poured into them will continue to be felt for generations.
While her family mourns her passing, they find comfort in knowing that her steadfast faith has carried her into the presence of her Lord and Savior. Her legacy of love, laughter, devotion, and faith will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Judy will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
