Juanita "Pollie" Wilson Hawkins

Juanita “Pollie” Wilson Hawkins, 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.

A funeral service will be held at 2PM on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Ricky Harbor officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and other times at the home.

Juanita was born in Rockingham County to the late John Wilson and Blanch Bailey. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister to her family. Her main joy in life was contributing to raising her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling to the mountains and Buggs Island Lake. She loved shopping for any occasion and to decorate her home. For anyone, she enjoyed coordinating and throwing parties.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, William Flint Hawkins Jr.; grandson, Jaime Lee Hawkins; siblings, William “Rocky” Wilson and Ruth “Buck” Dameron.

Juanita is survived by her husband of 66 years, William Flint Hawkins Sr.; children, Randy Lee Hawkins and Ronnie Lynn Hawkins; grandchildren, Brandon (Victoria), Joshua (Chelsea), Michele, Christopher, Angel (Dewayne), Tia, Ryan, Curtis, and Seth Hawkins; 11 greatgrandchildren; siblings, Sadie Cox, Mary Underwood, Rachel Underwood, Nancy Cassady, Betty Payne (Larry), and Carlton Wilson (Vickie) as well as a large and loving group of extended family and friends.
