Joyce Paschall Travis

Joyce Paschal Travis, 67, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 8, 2020. Following her wishes, there will not be any formal services. Joyce was born on July 6, 1952 to the late Hubert and Hessie Paschal. Joyce will be remembered as a caring person who selflessly took time to care for and sit with those in need within her community. Joyce loved being outside working in her yard and spending time with her neighbors and friends. More than anything, Joyce was a faithful Christian who deeply loved the Lord and often referenced scripture in everyday conversation. Joyce was loved by many and will be truly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn Paschal Overby. Joyce is survived by her son, Jay Travis; daughter, Kim West; grandchildren, Logan Travis, Lucas Travis, Scarlett Williams, Tayce Williams, Sterling Travis; sisters, Margie Manley, Pamela Coker; brothers, Glenn Paschal, Lannie Paschal, Ricky Paschal, Randy Paschal, and Wesley Paschal; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to a local church of your choice or to the Rockingham County Animal Shelter, 250 Cherokee Camp Rd, Reidsville, NC 27320.

Three weeks ago you left us to be with the Lord. It broke my heart because I thought you were getting better, had just seen you 3 days before and you were laughing and talking! I have the best memories of you that I will cherish always, I love you my special cousin and dear friend. Give Michael a hug from me and all of our loved ones and Ill see you again, God promised that!! You were a special person to us all and what you did for others did not go unnoticed!! Dear Randy, just came to the website to leave a birthday wish for mama & saw that Joyce had passed away. When daddy was sick she came to visit & came by to visit mama after he passed, she wanted to make sure she was doing ok & ask if she needed anything ~ that was so sweet of her. Use to bump into you at Food Lion or China Grill & remember you always asking bout the rest of the family. I lost Melody nearly 2yrs ago, we lived 5min apart & talked every day, I miss her so much. I'm thinking of you & all the family ~ Margaret Paschal Rakestraw

Joyce we will miss you greatly I remember the last time I seen you ,you made us laugh but still we talked about serious stuff as well. We all had hopes that this would pass and you get better but the Lord had other plans I'm glad you were able to be where you wanted to be and be as comfortable as you could I also know you were truly grateful for those who made that possible so until we see you again sweet lady tell everyone hello and we'll see them soon.

I have more than one memory of my aunt Joyce, but the one that will stick dear to my heart is her asking me to take care of her and being there when she needed me the most. I will definitely miss you and will remember our days together. Rest Easy and No More Pain... Please let our loved ones know we love and miss them as well and Please Watch Over All Of Us here. Forever in our hearts:heart::innocent:.....

I remember when we were all younger Joyce love to dance and laugh she could come up with the funniest things and just have you about in tears laughing so much and at times she would be quite that left you wondering what might come outta her mouth Then it seemed we grew up and sorta grew apart as some families do but when we did see each other at our mama's house it was fun the last few weeks I had the joy of being with Joyce almost everyday she'd still have you laughing even though I guess her mind on other things she always would sort of tell me things to do and places to go eat we talked like we had never talked before and I just knew she was getting better but the good Lord had other plans I was so happy I got to see her eat anything she wanted and just feel good she made me feel good about things that was to come I will miss her not only as a sister but as my friend love you Georgie Mae till we meet again.
