Joyce Faye Roughton

Joyce Faye Roughton, 90, passed away peacefully at her home on April 7, 2024.

Joyce was born in Philadelphia County, PA to the late Samuel and Sadie Affleck. She graduated from Germantown High School before attending Guilford Technical Community College where she obtained a technical Art Degree. Joyce worked as a media assistant for Guilford County Schools, where she retired after 14 years of service. She was active in her church at Greensboro Baptist where she taught Sunday School and helped with Vacation Bible School. After retiring, she volunteered as a librarian assistant for Vandalia Christian School. Her love for art never wavered, she enjoyed drawing, sewing, and reading. Most of all she loved her family and her church.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Charles J Roughton; her brother, Milton Affleck.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Linda R Harding (Thomas); son, Charles A Roughton (Kathy); 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; adopted son, Jeff Dobbins; long term friend, Frances Lowry as well as a large and loving group of extended family and friends.
