Joyce Anne Thompson Puckett

Joyce Anne Thompson Puckett, age 84, passed away on January 19, 2026. Joyce was born on February 24, 1941, to Jesse and Carrie Thompson and lived in the Wentworth community her entire life.

Joyce retired from Fieldcrest Cannon and then enjoyed working at Travel Consultants for several years. She was a member of Wentworth Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder and shared her love for music as the church pianist and choir director for more than 30 years. Joyce was a dedicated volunteer with the Multiple Sclerosis Society and Warm Up America charity that provided afghan blankets for people in need.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 47 years, Richard Alexander Puckett, and her daughter, Tammy Puckett Southard.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Puckett Medley and husband, Tim; her son-in-law, Curtis Southard; her grandchildren: Alex Medley, Sara Sharpe and husband, Ryan, and Curt Southard and wife, Jessie; her great grandchildren: Emilia Sharpe, Jackson Southard, Grayson Southard, and Annie Southard; along with a large, extended family.

To honor Joyce’s wishes, a graveside service will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Pastor Marty Brim will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Wenworth Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 1041 NC HWY 65, Reidsville, NC 27320.

Friends and family are welcome to visit at the home of Curt and Jessie Southard, 2871 Ashley Loop, Reidsville.
