Joseph Delmar Steele, Sr.

Joseph Delmar Steele, Sr., 80, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Camden Place Health and Rehab.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, September, 19, 2022 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Phil Surrett officiating.

Joseph was born in Washington, DC to the late Charles Steele and Effie Ward Steele. He was a US Army Veteran and a member of the 82^nd Airborne, as well as a Pathfinder.  

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson, Daniel.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Joanne Steele; sons, Paul Alan Rehberger and wife Lorie, Ken Marini, Joseph Delmar Steele, Jr. and wife Julie; daughters, Debbie Jo Steele, Angel Lynn Steele and fiancé Kevin Mitchell, Vickie Joanne Nylander and husband Carl Downer; grandchildren,  Timothy, Thomas, Christina, Beth, Donna, J.P., Austin, Andrew, Caitlin, Aaron, Joseph, Wyatt, Maris, Tyler, Kayla, Julianna, Elizabeth; sixteen great-grandchildren; brothers, James Steele and Ray Steele; and sister, Evelyn Funk.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to AuthoraCare Hospice of Guilford County at 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405.
