John Edward Hutcherson

John “Johnny” Edward Hutcherson, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2023, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.

A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held at 3:00PM on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Virginia Carolina Auto Auction, 2331 Goodyear Blvd, Danville VA, and other times at the home of his brother, Ricky Hutcherson.

Johnny was born on May 22, 1959, in Escambia County Florida to the late, Richard “Hutch” Hutcherson, Jr. and Mary Cox Hutcherson. Later, his family moved home to Danville, VA where Johnny was raised. Johnny was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed fishing, but more than anything he loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his loving and caring personality and his willingness to help anyone in need. Everyone who knew Johnny loved him.

He is survived by his brothers, Richard “Ricky” Hutcherson and wife Susan, Billy Cooper and wife Shirley, David Chambers and wife Johnna; sister, Julia Bailey and husband Roger; nephew, Richard Dean Hutcherson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
