James Robert Toler

James Robert Toler, 91, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Annie Penn Hospital.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Reidlawn Cemetery, with his brother-in-law, Dr. Robert Pruitt, officiating.

James was the son of Lloyd and Addie Matilda Chapmon Toler. He worked in textiles early in life and later enjoyed farming with those in his community. He had a great love for airplanes and also was very mechanically inclined and could take any machine apart and put it back together. James was a wonderful friend to everyone he met.

Those cherishing his memory are his sisters, Louise Barker and Mary Pruitt and her husband, Robert; nieces, Denise Walker and Lisa Roberson and her husband, Lane; and nephew, Stephen Walker and his wife, Monica.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Walker, and brothers-in-law, Ashley Walker and Jack Barker.
