James “Jimmy” Lee Wilson, 73, of Reidsville, went to his Heavenly home on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
Funeral services are planned for Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at 2:00 PM, weather permitting, at Wilkerson Funeral Home, with Rev. Ralph Clayton officiating. Burial at Reidlawn Cemetery will follow, weather permitting. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and at other times at the home of his sister, Elaine.
He was the son of Willie Pink Wilson and Mildred Southard Wilson. He has always been a child of God, whom he knew and loved. Jimmy loved to sit on the porch in his rocker, dipping his snuff and listening to bluegrass music. Grandpa Jones, Lester, and Scruggs were his favorites. He was always showing off his rings, along with his wallet of money. You could often find him playing his CDs and trying to play the guitar or banjo. He was definitely one of a kind. He ended up in Forsyth Hospital with Dr. Choong, whom we adored, and nurses who cared for him so well. Nurse Nicole nicknamed him “POP POP.” That stuck, and soon all the nurses were calling him that. He would just smile at them.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his siblings, Paul Wilson, Raymond Wilson, Curtis Wilson, Tommy Joe Wilson, Linda Starnes, and Joann Wray.
Left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Elaine Stone (Doug), Jerry Southard (Linda), Colene Howard (Roy), and Michael Wilson (Sherry); special niece and helper, Sherry Stone (Junebug). He also leaves behind many additional family members who love and miss him dearly.
